TQUK Level 3 Diploma for the Children's Workforce (Early Years Educator) (RQF)
About the Qualification:
This qualification is suitable for learners who currently work or wish to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of child development up to age 7. The qualification provides opportunities to progress to more senior roles and other qualifications such as TQUK Level 4 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
TQUK Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner (RQF)
About the Qualification:
This qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to become a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner, supporting the development, care, and education of children from birth to 5 years old, with knowledge of children up to 7 years.
TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People (RQF)
About the Qualification:
This qualification is regulated by Ofqual and has been developed in association with The Skills Network. This qualification is suitable for anyone who wants to enter into childcare career. The learners will develop basic understanding and knowledge of childcare, development, play and baby-sitting. The qualification provides opportunities to other qualifications such as TQUK Level 2 Diploma in Care (RQF).
TQUK Level 3 Diploma for Early Years Care and Education (Early Years Educator) (RQF)
About the Qualification:
This qualification is suitable for learners who currently work or wish to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of child development up to age 7. The qualification provides opportunities to progress to more senior roles and other qualifications such as TQUK Level 4 Diploma in Leadership and Management.

Course Delivery : The course will include a blended learning approach made up of face to face and online sessions (synchronous and asynchronous). Face to face session and synchronous online sessions will be for 6 hours.
Entry Requirements :
· Learners must work in an early years setting or arrange a work placement for the duration of the course (up to 2.5 days a week).
· Should have a Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent
Guided Learning Hours :
The guided learning hours (GLH) for this qualification is 367 hrs. This includes contact time i.e. teaching sessions, tutorials, assessed activities under supervision, live online sessions or webinars.
Mandatory Units Overview: The qualification is made up of 17 units which are as follows:
Unit 1 - Understand child development
Unit 2 - Support the holistic development of children
Unit 3 - Safeguarding and child protection in early years
Unit 4 - Promote the health, safety and welfare of young children
Unit 5 - Support the health, wellbeing and physical care needs of children in early years setting
Unit 6 - The equality, diversity and inclusion in early years settings
Unit 7 - Support positive behaviour in children
Unit 8 - Support children with additional support needs
Unit 9 - Support attachment when working with children in early years settings
Unit 10 - Support children through transitions
Unit 11 - Plan, lead and evaluate purposeful play activities to support children’s learning and development
Unit 12 - Support development of reading, literacy and mathematical skills in early years settings
Unit 13 - Extending children’s learning and thinking in early years settings
Unit 14 - Assessment and observation in early years settings
Unit 15 - Recording, storing , reporting and sharing information in early years settings

Qualification Assessments : Learners will be assessed by their tutors and assessors using a range of evidence methods. These may include direct observations, a portfolio of evidence, work products, professional discussions, witness testimonials, short answer- questions, written assignments, practical skills demonstrations and internally set and marked assessments.
Achievement of qualification requires a minimum of 350 hours of work experience.
Learners who have no previous or relevant experience of working with children are recommended to spend at least 400 hours in a real work environment with children between age range birth-5 years.
TQUK Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner (RQF)
About the Qualification :
This qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to become a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner, supporting the development, care, and education of children from birth to 5 years old, with knowledge of children up to 7 years.
Length of Course : This is a 9-12 month qualification and attendance is required for two days per week (30 weeks).
Course Delivery : The course will include a blended learning approach made up of face to face and online sessions. The weekly face to face session will be for 6 hours and the online session will be 4 hours.
Entry Requirements :
· Learners must work in an early years setting or arrange a work placement for the duration of the course (up to 2 days a week).
· Should have a Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent
Guided Learning Hours :
The guided learning hours (GLH) for this qualification is 300 hrs. This includes contact time i.e. teaching sessions, tutorials, assessed activities under supervision, live online sessions or webinars.

Learners are encouraged to arrange a work placement for the duration of the course (once per week).
Guided Learning Hours:
The guided learning hours (GLH) for this qualification is 117 hrs. This includes contact time i.e. teaching sessions, tutorials, assessed activities under supervision, live online sessions or webinars.
Course Overview: The qualification is made up of 5 units which are as follows:
Unit 1 - Understand how play forms part of a child’s development
Unit 2 - Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
Unit 3 - Craft activities with young children (Health and Safety)
Unit 4 - Use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet
Unit 5 - Caring for young children in a babysitting environment
Qualification Assessments: Learners will be assessed by their tutors and assessors using a range of evidence methods. These may include direct observations, a portfolio of evidence, work products, professional discussions, witness testimonials, short answer- questions, written assignments, practical skills demonstrations and internally set and marked assessments.
TQUK Level 3 Diploma for Early Years Care and Education (Early Years Educator) (RQF)
About the Qualification : This qualification is suitable for learners who currently work or wish to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of child development up to age 7. The qualification provides opportunities to progress to more senior roles and other qualifications such as TQUK Level 4 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
Length of Course : This is a 12-month qualification (can be extended to 15 months, if deemed necessary). Attendance is required two days per week for 33 weeks. The course will include two block week placements.
Course Delivery : The course will include a blended learning approach made up of face to face and online sessions. Face to face session will be for 6 hours and online session will be 5 hours.
Entry Requirements :
· Learners must work in an early year setting or arrange a work placement for the duration of the course (up to 2 days a week).
· Should have a Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent
Guided Learning Hours:
The guided learning hours (GLH) for this qualification is 498 hrs. This includes contact time i.e. teaching sessions, tutorials, assessed activities under supervision, live online sessions or webinars.

Unit 2-Prepare young children for the transition to school
Unit 3-Safeguarding and child protection in the early years

Unit 9-Promote positive attachments in early years settings
Unit 10-Support babies and young children through transitions and significant life events
Unit 11-Promote purposeful play activities within early years settings
Unit 12-Develop early literacy, reading and mathematical skills with young children
Unit 13-The role of assessment in early years and child development
Unit 14-Effective record keeping and information sharing in the early years

Achievement of qualification requires a minimum of 300 hours of work experience. Hours may vary depending on the individual learner but a range of 300-350 hours is recommended.
