Meet our team
Kawal Kaur
Founder | Director
I’m Kawal Kaur, an early years education leader with over 20 years of experience in shaping high-quality learning environments. My journey began with the birth of my son—a moment that sparked a lifelong passion for giving every child the best start in life. In 2012, I founded Expanding Horizons Consultancy with a clear mission: to empower educators and transform practice so children can truly thrive.
Today, I’m building a supportive, nurturing learning community where professionals grow together and inspire excellence. Alongside leading consultancy work, I’ve served as a lecturer and trainer for schools and universities, and conducted extensive research in early years neuroscience—adapting my curriculum to align with how young brains learn best. As neuroscience reminds us, “Early experiences shape the architecture of the developing brain,” and this principle drives everything I do. Whether helping nurseries achieve the best outcomes or designing programmes that boost confidence and creativity, my focus remains the same: creating safe, inclusive, and inspiring spaces for every child.
